Coaching news

In this week's edition of the Colchester GolfAcademy newsletter, I have decided to set a taskfor our members and fellow golfers. This is tosee if they have the correct swing path by usinga very simple drill.

If you place a cone or a headcover down just onthe outside of the ball, you will be able totell what kind of swing path you have. If youcan take the club away, and return the clubwithout hitting the object, we know that theclub is travelling on either a square or in toout swing path. So if you are a slicer, you willfind that you hit the cone more often thannot. If you do, keep hitting balls, trying tonot hit the cone. This will neutralise yourswing path, and produce much better, morecentred shots.
