Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
Please spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey, which gives you the chance to have your say on the proposed changes.
We've picked out some of the most significant Rules changes for you to digest in this survey, before giving you the chance to say whether you agree or disagree with each of them. It'll be great to know your thoughts.

Round Up
Alan Hyde kept his head above water to win Colchester Golf Club's Cystic Fibrosis Stableford, Colchester's first individual men's competition of the year.
The competition marks the start of the Clubs extensive golfing programme, which from now on gradually builds up throughout the spring, and what a day it was to start.
After a comparatively balmy hour at the start of the competition the heavens opened and violent rain sprayed the course for most of the morning, gradually easing off for the afternoon starters.
Needless to say from the 104 members due to start only 60 entered competitive cards the rest either walking in or taking the decision not to start.
Proving his worth in the conditions was Alan Hyde, a late morning starter playing off seven, who with his accurate iron play returned a handicap equalling 36 points.
On the second hole he failed to score but immediately bounced back to birdie the third and went on to return 18 points on the front nine. His back nine was interesting as he again did not score on one hole, this time on the 16th, but immediately sprung back with a birdie on the 17th and then went on to record another 18 points on the back.
Bill Eke(5), who played through the worst of the weather, took second spot. After struggling 14 points on the front nine his second nine was a joy to behold. Shaking the rain off he pared in from the ninth to record 21 points.
Two other equalled Eke's score of 35 and they were Ralph Charles(16) and Joe Jackson(16) with Steve Jennings(5) and Richard Haines(6) taking fifth and sixth places with 34 points.
Cassie Cunningham and Louisa Storey last year's finalist in the county's Hunter Cup started their 2017 campaign with a 6&5 win over Harwich and Dovercourts's Sylvia Oliver and Abbey Henshall despite having to give them sixteen shots!
The inform Annie Johnston(14) score 29 points to win the ladies 14 hole competition earlier in the week. In a strong field of 56 players her score was just the one shot better than 28 handicappers Hayley Joel who was second on her own with 28 points.
There were four ladies all returning 27 points, Philippa Macaulay(20), Philippa Deman(9), Bee Pertwee(18) and Ann Salmon(31).
